Out of town

One Portishead venue is listed above as that’s practically Bristol. Slightly further afield, we have The Riff Corner in Clevedon (listings here). For gigs in Bath check out Widcombe Social Club, with occasional dates promoted by Nod Knowles, The Bell Inn on the other side of town, and – showing some recent signs of reviving jazz offerings, St James Wine Vaults. These’ll be on the calendar when relevant.

And if you are a bit more mobile, there are often excellent gigs in Cardiff at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, which has a lively jazz course, with free session most Friday evenings in term time, and the excellent Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford on Avon.
