Jam Sessions? Oh yes…

If Bristol looks like it has more gigs than you’d expect for a city our size, I reckon the same is true for Jam Sessions.

These don’t get listed every month on the calendar as I want to make it easy to find the regular gigs, and because it would mean putting in quite a few extra dates.

But I will put up new ones when I hear about them (Jazz Manouche Jam at the increasingly well-used room at Spirited in North Street this month). And below is a rough list which I’ll try and keep current.

Regular Jam sessions in March 2026

Stag & Hounds – Sunday session led by guest artists.

Old England – Community Jam Collective on Tuesdays.

Mr Wolf’s – Donut Filler Jam on Wednesdays.

The Bristol Fringe has a different jam each Monday – see their website for details

The Canteen in Stokes Croft has usually has jams of various persuasions on Mondays and Tuesdays

The Cube Cinema has the Free Jazz Gachapon (Thur 5).

Attic Bar has Suntrap Nu-Jazz Jam (Thur 12, Thur 26).

Jam Jar has The Door Is Ajar (Sat 28).

Cafe Grounded Fishponds has Hot Jazz Jam once a month. (Thur 26)

Oh, and the East Bristol Jazz Club has a monthly Jam at the Old Stillage, Church Rd, which claims to be the longest running one in town. See their FB page here.
